Newly signed ZESCO United Defensive Midfielder, Dickson Chapa says he will work hard to justify his move to the league champions.
Chapa who has made a 1-year loan move from FAZ/MTN Super League relegated side Napsa Stars to the 2020/21 Zambian super league champions has described his move to ZESCO United as a dream come true.
“I was very excited when I heard that ZESCO United were interested in signing me. I was very happy because it shows that my efforts in the game are being appreciated especially when a team like ZESCO United come calling.
This is a very organized club with a rich history. I feel that they have seen something in me which they want to use to add value to the team,” Chapa said.
The 25-year-old enterprising midfielder can’t wait to team up with the rest of the ZESCO United squad ahead of the new season.
“It will be exciting for me to play alongside John Ching’andu, Jesse Were, Simon Silwimba, and Thabani Kamusoko. It is good to play and meet guys that you think will always give you a challenge. I admire these players because it was always hard to play against during my time at Napsa especially John Ching’andu because he is such an intelligent player.”
Chapa has further thanked Napsa Stars management for allowing him to strengthen his career away from the pensioners.
“I am very much happy especially that Napsa Stars officials gave me the blessings to join ZESCO United. This is a big challenge for me because ZESCO United is a big club, and demands are high here. This means that I have to double my efforts because I have joined a team that won the league and want to continue winning trophies.”
Dickson Chapa becomes the second player ZESCO United have signed ahead of the coming FAZ/MTN Super League season and CAF Champions League campaign.
