ZESCO United attacking midfielder Chanda Mukuka has been drafted into a 30-member National Team provisional squad comprising local players that will enter residential camp on Friday in Lusaka.
20-year-old Mukuka has been one of ZESCO United’s outstanding players since making a 2-year loan move from Gomes football club.
Announcing the provisional squad today at a media briefing, Zambia National Team head coach, Beston Chambeshi said the team will have the first camp ahead of the back-to-back FIFA World Cup qualifiers in September.
ZESCO United midfielders, Kelvin Kampamba and Dickson Chapa have also made the provisional list.
Chambeshi has also summoned former U-20 Africa Cup of Nations winning captain and ZESCO United defender Solomon Sakala and Simon Silwimba.
The team will be in camp for four days before regrouping for the long haul on August 15 ahead of an international training camp to be held either in Europe or Morocco.
Zambia will be away to Mauritania on September 1, 2021, before hosting Tunisia five days later at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Group B of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
