ZESCO United attacking midfielder, Thabani Kamusoko believes the club is still on course to defend the league title despite laboring to get consistent results.
The Zimbabwean midfield maestro says the team will work hard to ensure that they start picking positive results.
“It is not too late to turn the tide. ZESCO United is a big club and as players we know exactly what to do when things are not going our way. What we need to do now is to stay focused and keep working hard. We know our target.
“We are all disappointed with the results and everyone in the team is fighting to change the narrative. There is a huge appetite for us to deliver. We want to be in the top four before the league hits the halfway mark so that we could get the Absa slot.
“We can’t give up now because we know that what we are going through happens in football and can happen to any team. I believe we will turn this around but what is crucial is staying focused.”
Kamusoko has appealed to ZESCO United fans to continue supporting the team.
“We know they are not happy with the results, but this is the moment we need them the most. We need to be together as a team when ZESCO United wins and when the team loses. This is the most crucial phase of the campaign. As such we need their full support.”
ZESCO United will this afternoon face Lusaka Dynamos in the MTN Super League week 15 fixture scheduled for the Woodlands stadium, Lusaka.
