ZESCO United this afternoon beat Lusaka Dynamos 1-0 in the FAZ/MTN Super League week 32 matches played at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium keeping their title hopes alive.
A 5’ minute Thabani Kamusoko goal was all ZESCO United needed to ensure that the title race isn’t decided at week 32 with Red Arrows only managing to get a 1-all draw against Kabwe Warriors in a game played in Kabwe.
Todays result mean that the Airmen will need to beat Chambishi in the MTN Super League week 33 match to be crowned 2021/22 MTN Super League champions.
On the contrary, ZESCO United will be aiming to silence Nkwazi at Edwin Mboela stadium on Sunday and hope that Chambishi hold their lines against Red Arrows.
ZESCO United Head Coach Numba Mumamba is delighted with todays team performance.
“We are happy to collect maximum points. These are tricky games which people expect you to win but they are often tough because these are opponents fighting relegation.
The objective was to get maximum points. We had some players who are out with knocks. We rested them ahead of the Nkwazi game.”
Mumamba said the focus of the team is to win all the remaining games. ” This win motivates us to work hard in the next game against Nkwazi. The most important thing for us is to focus on what we are doing.”
