ATLASMARA TIPS ZESCO UNITED TO BOUNCE BACK

Atlasmara Bank Chief Executive Officer, Bobbline Cheembela is confident Zambian Super League giants ZESCO United will return the league title next season.

And Cheembela has reiterated the Banks commitment towards supporting communities countrywide.

Speaking during the ZESCO United Players’ Awards ceremony held at Protea Hotel Ndola last night, Cheembela urged ZESCO United players to prepare adequately for the season ahead of them.

“The 2021 to 2022 season marks the 5th season in which Atlasmara Bank has been partnering with ZESCO United Football Club and ZESCO Limited to develop Zambian football.

 “I am pleased to advise that this partnership has extended beyond the pitch and into the community through corporate social responsibility, financial literacy training and a school’s engagement program that has seen us collectively engaging the secondary schools as partners. We are very confident this team will bounce back next season because we believe in them.

Meanwhile ZESCO Limited Senior Regional Manager, Chrispin Katongo has thanked Atlasmara Bank for their unwavering financial and technical support towards the growth of ZESCO United.

“We are aware of your strong passion towards the growth of Zambian football which is evidently seen through past and current sponsorship memorandum of understandings your bank has signed with ZESCO United Football Club.

“This gesture from your bank has been a major financial boost for ZESCO United as it has eased the club’s operations,” Katongo said.

Katongo further added that ZESCO United remains a key strategic organization to ZESCO Limited’s operations.

“I wish to yet again state that ZESCO United is a very important brand to the operations of ZESCO Limited. The success of the company is also mirrored through the achievements of this football club as it continues to be a crucial strategic link between ourselves and the communities who utilize our electricity.

“This brand further opens a ray of big opportunities to many budding young players who wish to pursue a successful career in the game.”

Meanwhile event guest of honour and Ndola Mayor, Jones Kaliati has lauded both ZESCO Limited and Atlasmara for prioritizing football in their social corporate responsibility agenda.

“Football is a great source of unity and continues to provide employment opportunities to our local people. We are aware of the many young boys who sharpened their football skills in the dusty streets of Ndola, later becoming star player for club and country,

“This tradition continues to date with several young players from our communities cementing places in the ZESCO United squad. I would like to urge both ZESCO United and Atlasmara not to relent in this quest to develop the Zambian game.”

And ZESCO United Chief Executive Officer, Charles Kalala says club management will work hard to ensure that the team is ready for the next campaign.

“We are aware of a long football season ahead of us which will see our team battle for both domestic and international honors. It is our objective to ensure that we assemble a team with the quality to hep us win the league title and mount a serious challenge in the CAF competitions.”
