UNITED SEARCH FOR FIRST WIN AFTER LEOPARDS DRAW

Zambian Super League giants, ZESCO United opened their 2022/23 season campaign with a 1-all against Prison Leopards in a match played on Saturday at the Presidents stadium, Ndola.

Alfred Leku put the visitors ahead with a 16-minute goal which the hosts controversially disputed claiming the ball had not crossed the line.

Prison Leopards came back for the second half rejuvenated and successfully managed to get an equalizer through Damiano Kola.

A 63’ minute well placed cross from Zacharias Chilongoshi was met by Kola whose well timed header beat Ian Otieno at close range.

With very few scoring opportunities created by the two sides, the game ended in a stalemate.

ZESCO United will be hoping to claim their first maximum points when they face Red Arrows in the MTN Super League week two fixture scheduled for this Saturday at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
