ZESCO United acting Head Coach, Alfred Lupiya expects his side to build on Saturdays victory ahead of tomorrow’s league encounter against FC MUZA.
Lupiya’s charges bounced back from last week’s 2-1 midweek defeat at the hands of Napsa by beating Kansanshi Dynamos 3-1 at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
Goals from Kezironi Kizito, John Chingandu and Vincent Oburu ensured that the nine times league champions sailed home with three points in the bag.
Meanwhile Lupiya expects an exciting match when his charges face FC MUZA tomorrow at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
“We are coming into tomorrow’s match with a lot of motivation after Saturday’s victory. The game against Kansanshi wasn’t easy but we managed to get three points. I think we showed a lot of character after conceding. The boys are very much motivated.
“My focus is to make sure that the team goes to where it belongs. The MUZA game will not be easy. They have a very good young side with one or two players at U-20. I have hinted to my players to take this game seriously. We need maximum points.”
Lupiya has further bemoaned the absence of Kenyan international striker Vincent Oburu who pulled a muscle during Saturdays victory.
“Oburu’s injury is a major blow to this team. His absence will be deeply felt because he has been scoring goals for us. This has affected our preparations but we have Spencer Sautu who will take up the responsibility. Spencer is an experienced player who can deliver at any given time.
“I think it has been a very busy period for everyone, the players are tired and fatigued due to the number of games we have had to play in a short space. We will also be missing Kelvin Kampamba due to suspension while Kelvin Kapumbu will make a return after recovering from an injury sustained against Napsa Stars,” he said.
ZESCO United will tomorrow date FM MUZA in the MTN Super League week nine fixture scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium, Ndola.
