Eswatin international defender, Lindo Mkhonta has described his recent move to ZESCO United as a dream come true.
Mkhonta who signed a two-year contract with United has hit the ground running, providing an assist in his debut game which led to TeamYaziko’s opening goal against Green Eagles. He was also instrumental in United’s recent 1-1 draw match against Power Dynamos.
The 31-year-old Young Buffaloes defense kingpin has his eyes firmly focused on playing a major role at United after starting in two consecutive league game.
“Firstly, I would like to thank my new teammates for warmly welcoming me to this great club. I think I have found it easy to settle because of them. ZESCO United is a big football club as such it was a dream come true to sign for them. I am here to prove myself and to help the team get out of its current position,” Mkhonta said.
Meanwhile Mkhonta has expressed happiness with the level of competitions at United since securing his two-year move.
“There is massive competition here and am working very hard to be at the same level with everyone. This is a highly professionally run football club and the league is very competitive as compared to ours back home. As such, I need to adapt quickly. I am happy so far with what I have done and hopes to build on that.
“It was always my wish to one-day play abroad. I am very happy that this opportunity has presented itself. The coaches are top level which is motivation enough for me to work even harder.”
This week, United are earmarked to face Napsa Stars before travelling to MUZA FC for the MTN Super league week 25 match scheduled for Mazabuka.
