ZESCO United coach Numba Mumamba expects his charges to collect maximum points when the former league champions clash with their town rivals Forest Rangers this afternoon in the FAZ/MTN Super League week two fixture scheduled for the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
Mumamba watched his side controversially denied two goals in their away week one opener against Napsa Stars.
However, Mumamba expects his charges to put Sunday’s frustration behind them:
“Our target is to collect maximum points especially that we dropped two in Lusaka. We are playing a local derby against Forest Rangers which, I think will be an interesting fixture because this is the game that will show that we have a team that can produce good results,” he said.
Mumamba will be expecting his side to put up a spirited performance having dominated Napsa Stars in their opening fixture.
“Today we have an opportunity to improve on what we did in Lusaka. If we do this, I think we are going to have a field day today.”
When reminded that Forest Rangers have often had an upper hand whenever the two sides meet, Mumamba responded: “This is a different game and I think we have planned for Forest and the team is ready for this afternoon’s game. All we are looking for is collecting maximum points.
It is crucial that we start digging dipper so that we catch up with the teams that won their first games. Our aim is to challenge for the title so we need to start collecting points as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile Mumamba has indicated his desire to use the same team that impressed in the first game against Napsa Stars.
“Looking at the way the team performed, I think we will give them another chance to prove themselves and will see how they will perform against Forest Rangers today.”
