KIPIMPI BAGS WOMEN’S PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD

ZESCO Ndola Girls defender Melody Kipimpi has emerged as the clubs 2022/23 Player of the Year.

Kipimpi who played a starring role in ensuring that ZESCO Ndola Girls secured a third position finish in the just ended Zambia Women’s League was among the recipients of various awards presented to the ladies’ team at this evenings ZESCO United and Atlasmara Player Awards Gala Dinner.

And ZESCO Ndola Girls striker, Charity Mubanga has won the clubs Top Scorer award while Mable Bwalya has walked away with the Most Disciplined Player and Young Player of the Year Award respectively.

Zambian international striker Avel Chitundu has been voted as the Most Consistent Player.

Meanwhile ZESCO United Executive Committee Member, Muntanga Sibalwa says the club is determined to contribute to the growth of women football in the country.

“This is the first time we are holding a combined Player Award Gala Dinner involving our men’s and women’s teams. This event speaks to our commitment as ZESCO United management towards ensuring that women like the men’s team, are given equal opportunities in the game.

“We want to provide them with the same spotlight and investment that the men’s game continues to receive at domestic and international stage,” Sibalwa said.
